Near the kitchen at the back of Miracle Garden were western-style toilets set up for our missions team back in 2005. But the kids are unfamiliar with western-style toilets and would often use the floor near the toilet, instead. :-( Without a drain hole leading to the septic tank, "accidents" needed to be cleaned up by hand. Yuk!
So John changed those western toilets last week and installed Indian-style toilets that all the kids are familiar with. Yeah! No more messes. :-) Here you see the western toilet "graveyard" and the shiny new Indian facilities.
This change was a need that had not been expressed in the newsletters. If anyone is interested in helping offset the costs of this transformation, the equipment and installation cost $310. (Not bad for replacing 3 toilets and repairing the doors & faucets/fixtures.)
