Kasturi asks for blessing on the children's breakfast.

This post is a little out of order, but I wanted everyone to see it. Kasturi is 5 years old, but not shy about saying grace.

Brand new Christmas clothes!

Thank you so much to everyone who participated in providing the children with Christmas gifts. Here they model their new outfits with flowers in their hair. :-)

Idly

Thank you Moo Moo Granny for providing a special breakfast meal of Idly for all our children!

Kalai Selvan handing out morning idly packets.

The kids got a special meal for breakfast on Christmas morning. Each child got 4 idly with sambar and chutney. Idly is a South Indian specialty made from rice and dhal flour ground to form a batter. Then the batter is steamed in trays with cupcake-tin-type indentations to make a fluffy, round, "pillow" shaped idly.

Kids make Christmas ornaments to decorate their Christmas tree.

The kids made doves and candle ornaments symbolizing Christmas peace and the light that they can be in the world by sharing peace with others.

Our first day -

After landing at the Coimbatore airport, we went to pick up the children at school. Here are the younger boys and girls waiting in their classroom. December 23rd was the last day of school for them, and they were waiting for the older children, who had exams that day.

Sangeetha & Soundaraya's story

video
John shares the heartwrenching story of Sangeetha and Soundaraya. The two sisters survived the tsunami with their family. Then lost their parents to arson when their refugee camp was burned to the ground. They both still need sponsors.
