"Children of the Tsunami"

At school our kids were vehemently verbally and physically abused. Our kids were called the "Children Of the Tsunami".

On the day of the attack, as our students walked through the village no one laid a single finger on them. But when they had reached a bridge which lies about a 1000ft from Miracle Garden, there lay an army of hooligans supported by the Principal, local Mafia leader and others. About 200 people joined hands in "BRAVELY" beating up innocent orphans.

It is terrifying for me to even recount the tales of the battle that ensued, as I have gathered from our kids. By 4pm Tamil Arasan came and told me that they had gotten wind of the planned attack. I told him please go around and come home through another village. (Some animosity did exist between our kids and the village kids, I did not conclude this was going to become a life or death situation.) But somehow that message did not get to our kids on time. So they did walk into the ambush.

While this was being played out Viswanathan came and said they were under attack. I sent a few of our English medium boys to check out the situation, and they all walked into a deadly situation. Looking back what was the motive behind them attacking our kids just outside our campus? I believe these cowards wanted a physical response from inside Miracle Garden. That particular evening there were about 30 Pastors there, and they wanted to go out and see for themselves. But something in me told me to stop them. If they had walked out the attackers would have pulled us all into a major conflict in which the waters would be mudied.

But today we stand righteous not accused of being retaliators but rather we were Christian about it throughout the episode.

Tommorow at 4pm they asked me to come to a Peace meet. I will go with several supporters who will speak for us. Please pray.

Our Kids Recuperating in the Hospital

The new Principal took over about a year ago. Before that the situation was totally different. The kids were loved by the past Principal, He really showed love and compassion for pur kids.
But this new Principal has been a catalyst for unrest all through the year.
Kids would come home from school and say that kids were teasing them as "Tsunamis" etc. I would tell them that the world was cruel and sometimes we couldnt explain it at all. Then at other times I would encourage them to get the Principal's involvement in their problems.
But whenever our kids would approach the teachers or the Principal they would totally reject their pleas and just support the village kids. Now this went on for months. I restricted our kids from retaliating in any violent way. On the day of this incident, the principl allowed kids to bring in weapons and keep them on school premises(the village boys showed the weapons to our girls and toyed with them the whole day).
Around 4:00pm Tamil Arasan came and informed me that there is a big fight brewing. I guided him to go and tell our kids to take an alternative route back home. But he did not get that info asis to the kids and reported back to them as though I had given them a choice. The boys followed the girls in the routine orderly fashion. More than Two hundred members of the Dalit Panther Party(a Untouchable peoples Party) protest at the hospital on behalf of the kids(who are also untouchables) They demanded the immediate arrest and capture of the Principal, which now has taken place...

Human Rights Commissioner Mr. Kesavan who personally intervened on behalf of the children and the Principal is now suspended and removed from his post at the School.

The main culprit:

In the middle you see a bald headed man, He is the Principal of the School where our kids attend. The Police and Human rights investigation has fingered him as the person who formed the gang that attacked our kis. He is supposedly a main member of a group that is against untoucahbles. Here in the picture you see Politicians from a Political Party of the untouchables capturing the principla at the Hospital grounds as he had come to threten our kids in the hospital not to testify against him.

Ramesh in the Government Hospital...He is suffering from internal injuries...He was stepped on and beaten in the chest...please pray for Him...many people in the village are supporting the thugs and not identifying them...

All are admitted in the hospital...with serious injuries...

Police call it attempted murder. As I write this 9 of our kids are admitted in the Hospital with broken open heads, broken hands, crushed chests.

Police are picking up the gang of adult criminals, it is 3am and the entire State administration is bearing down on the village to capture the criminal gang that has broken all code of human conduct as they attempted to kill our children just because they profess christ.
