Going to School...Our kids(grade 2-8) walk in a single file to school and back everyday. They walk through the field and the village to get to school. They all go together and come back together. It is a ten minute walk. If it is raining then I do bus them out to school in our "reliable" old mini Bus! Here you see the Nebraska team joining them on a walk to school. Posted by Picasa

The newly installed Cross. Boldly declaring the Christian symbol. As there are no christian institutions for kilometers around, this 6' * 4' cross stands as our witness. At night it lights up the sky, especially as we are in a remote area, there are no other lights to dim its glow. Please pray for us! Posted by Picasa

HOW OUR FOOD IS DONE! Priscilla is the main cook (in the blue dress). Assisting her is Kavitha. Kavitha is the special cook for westerners and other guests that come and stay @ Miracle Garden. Priscilla is also caretaker for the girls and also teaches at the Bible college. This is the new firewood kitchen. It is 24' by 12'. It is a steel shed with just hardened mud flooring. Adjacent to it is the indoor kitchen which is used for storing vessels, houses the dish washing area and is used for prep work. Posted by Picasa

Thank you Steve & Liz, This "dual slide jungle jim" is part of the playground you helped sponsor for the kids. It is still under construction, the playground will be ready in another 3 weeks. God bless you and your family! The Kids love you for it! Posted by Picasa

Dear Friend:
This after noon I was supervising the installation of
the playground equipment here at miracle garden, when
a teacher from the school our kids attend showed up
and told me one of our kids was having seizures at
school. I drove out there in a hurry and found Priya
(see attached pic)on the ground convulsing and having
her second episode. Then I brought her back to Miracle
garden and when I got back she once again went into
another attack and with tears I prayed for God to stop
it. This kid already had enough done to her in her
short life, and to see her in that condition just
broke my heart.
We are 45 minutes away from any major medical care. My
prayer was earnest, I felt God must have touched her.
I then had another girl pack her things, I got one of
our bible college student(girl) to also accompany us.
We took her out to the general hospital 45 minutes
away. There they diagnosed her with some neurocytosis
or something like that. She has a cyst on her brain
that is causing her tremendous pain and causing the
seizures.
Priya is the girl who also was attacked by polio and
cannot walk so well. It is tough having to see her go
through yet another horrible sickness. Anyway we are
now their parents and we must bear the burden and
suffer the pain.
She is now admitted in the hospital, if you can call
it one. It is a very large complex housing thousands
of patients. Priya is sleeping on the floor and the
bible college student is by her side. I stayed till
9pm
and gave them food and had to leave. I will be back
there in the morning.
Please pray for Priya, I dont know what we can do.
They dont even have a proper doctor, some resident kid
is looking after th patients. It is expensive to go to
a neurosurgeon, but I did find one guy who will give
us free consultation. But if it is surgery or
something then I dont know how much it will cost.
Anyway pray for God to take care of his orphans. They
are His more than they are ours. I believe in
miracles, these are miracle kids.
God bless

Greetings, tsunami kids, from Mrs. Coene's and Mrs. Beamish's fifth grade PM Core class at Rogers Middle School in West Irondequoit. Mrs. Michelle Pandian (back row left) student taught with Mrs. Jane Beamish (second row, right) in Mrs. Elizabeth Coene's (front row left) class this spring. The fifth graders have sent pen pal letters to the orphans, and Mrs. Pandian just sent 4 boxes of stuffed animals that the students donated to the children in India (thank you Grace for organizing much of that). The boxes should arrive before November and all the orphans are eagerly awaiting the their arrival. Connecting children with other children around the world is a sure method to ensure a world of peace in the future.  Posted by Picasa
